Hi all!
I found this artist webpage a while ago doing research for new interpretations of old artworks. His name is Bob Kessel and I think that his interpretations of famous artworks into basic geometries are really interesting. My favorite is the first image of Kessel's work I came across, "VAN GOGH'S CHAIR apres Vincent Van Gogh". What do you guys think of his work?
Really neat and I really enjoy the overall design of his website too. I especially love the 3D sidebar section titled Bobs World where the links scroll by in a a sphere shape as opposed to a flat list of sidebar links. Anyone know what that's actually called? http://www.bobkessel.com/100-views-by-bob-kessel/
ReplyDeleteFun link, Leslie. thanks for sharing! My favorite was http://www.bobkessel.com/artists-on-art/.
ReplyDeleteI believe the links are just in an animation, and it's a 'tag' or word cloud type widget he has on his site, christina. tags are great tool you all can use for your blogs. it highlights frequent tags and shows folks in a quick visual way what your site content focuses on. give it a try!
The above link reminded me of memes.
ReplyDeleteThe work overall reminded me of simplified images to pixels. Surely this quote resonates with all I just said, which is on his website:
"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary
so that the necessary may speak.”- Hans Hofmann
